Some people just can’t keep their gaming inside their computer. They need it to surround them on shelves and possibly as the centerpiece of a dining room table. These people are awesome/crazy and they mostly reside over at Tomopop where they’ve just given us a look at the new World of Warcraft figures that are coming out soon.

The figures are produced by DC Unlimited and don’t have a firm release date yet, but they’re coming at some point. There are three figures in the Series 7 collection and two figures Premium Series 3 collection. If you’re not into premium things you can pick up Orc Rogue Garuna, Human Paladin Judge Malthred, and Worgen Spy Garm Whitefang. If you are into premium things that you may want to instead pick up Orc Warrior Garrosh HellScream, and Troll Hunter Taz’Dingo. If you’re into both premium and regular things than you can just pick them all up.

Next Thanksgiving you’ll have the perfect centerpiece for sure.

+ BioShock 2 props surface … and you can buy them By timdgf 05 February 2010 at 4:00 pm and have No Comments

You’ve wanted one ever since seeing it in the very first trailer for BioShock 2. You even have one for your Xbox Avatar. Now you can buy a real, official replica of the cuddly “hand-made” Big Daddy plush doll that’s featured in the game.

Toymaker NECA has announced that the collectible is now available for $20 from various retailers, along with a highly detailed, 8″ replica of an EVE syringe* ($16) that lights up blue when you push in its plunger. We realize these items are but a small consolation for 2K deciding not to release the $15,000 “Über Edition” of the game, but you have to admit they’re pretty darn cool.

*EVE not included.

+ Lost Planet 2 action figures vs. your wallet By xrstyleman 29 January 2010 at 1:13 am and have No Comments

Capcom has inked a deal with Japanese toymaker collectibles purveyor Kotobukiya that will see the latter producing toys action figures based on the Variable Suits (i.e. power armor) featured in Lost Planet 2. Set to mech their debut in May, the two VS reproductions will retail for $39.99 each — which seems pretty steep, until you consider just how detailed they actually are.

Both figures will stand 6″ tall and feature more than 20 points of articulation, plus functioning canopies and — taking a cue from the game — removable, interchangeable heavy weapons. It’ll be up to you to provide the appropriate sound effects. Check out slightly larger photos of the itty-bitty bots after the break.

+ SOTA offering Lightning Blank and Juri resin statues By AdminLady 20 January 2010 at 7:00 pm and have No Comments

SOTA offering Lightning Blank and Juri resin statues screenshot

For those of you who have listened to Topher’s sage words about the best way to approach the up-coming (but recently-delayed) release of Super Street Fighter IV, you’ll be happy to know that there is some toy chest-hardware coming your way, courtesy of SOTA.

The first is a one-of-a-kind Lightning Blanka, an un-used prototype of SOTA’s Blanka Resin statue. It’s cast in clear blue, with a white lightning bolt detail painted on. What it loses in detail, it makes up in pure metal. I mean, just look at it: it’s a 12″ resin statue of Blanka, and he’s shooting lightning out of his body. Check out Lightning Blank on SOTA’s Web site; just get ready for awesome.

The rub? Only one of them exists in the entire world, and it’s being auctioned on eBay on February 1st. It’s bound to be pricy, but get this: all of the proceeds are being donated to the relief effort going on in Haiti. (For more information about how you can help, go here.)

Ok, so Lightning Blanka might be out of reach, but don’t let that stop you: SOTA just announced their Juri figure on their Facebook page. I like the pose and all the detail in the wardrobe (the totally gratuitous side-boob doesn’t hurt either), but SOTA’s Juri looks a little too wholesome. Juri is a sneaky assassin spider-lady, not the cute girl you cheated off of in Calculus 2 freshman year.

For a closer look at Juri, check out this Facebook album. No release date or price has been announced (you’ll notice that it’s not even on their website yet), but Juri looks ready to go, so I’m sure SOTA will announce something soon.

+ Lego Universe trailer looks unexpectedly thrilling By DrEurope 09 January 2010 at 12:30 pm and have No Comments

We know we’ve built a permanent establishment in our cheek in which to house our tongues, but we’re being completely sincere when we say that the above trailer for Lego Universe is one of the coolest trailers we’ve seen in a long time. Who knew that a kid-friendly MMO in which colorful, stackable bricks are collected could cause our adrenaline to rise in a way we only thought really intense episodes of 24 were capable of? We certainly did not know that.

Check out the trailer above, then check out a fresh batch of screenshots below. They’re considerably less awesome than the trailer, but they can’t really be blamed for their stationary nature.

+ DC Direct’s line of Mass Effect 2 figures is looking rad By JackyLee 06 January 2010 at 7:30 pm and have No Comments

DC Direct's line of Mass Effect 2 figures is looking rad screenshot

Besides what little we have learned from the slew of recent Mass Effect 2 trailers, we really don’t know all that much about the new characters beyond their appearance and general traits/abilities.

Depending on if I end up hating or loving Thane and Grunt when this game finally hits, my answer could change, but as it stands I want this entire set of action figures minus Shepard. We know more about him than all these other characters, even Tali, but his facial region is giving off a weird vibe.

Considering how these things aren’t going to be ready until late August, I suppose I’ll have plenty of time to figure the logistics out. Hold on, I can just replace the Spectre with my Isaac Clarke figure! Feel free to release these toys right now, guys. Like, how does tomorrow sound?

Oh, and if you’re the super anxious type, you can pre-order the lot of ‘em at Entertainment Earth.

+ Win a Mr. Destructoid bobblehead over on Tomopop By enlickclearie 22 December 2009 at 8:40 am and have No Comments

Win a Mr. Destructoid bobblehead over on Tomopop screenshot

Tomopop is giving away a Mr. Destructoid bobblehead and all you need to do to win the figure is write a haiku about toys, Tomopop or both! Their contest is open until January 1 and the best haiku will win the figure.

If you’re worried about your haiku writing skills, you can always just head straight to Bobbletoid where you can purchase the bobblehead. Oh, and be on the lookout for another Mr. Destructoid bobblehead contest happening on Dtoid later this week.

+ New Kingdom Hearts figures are way too sexy By Jkonerddsa 07 December 2009 at 1:00 am and have No Comments

New Kingdom Hearts figures are way too sexy screenshot

Play Arts has revealed some superhot fantastique new figures that happily coincide with the arrival of Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep. This set of three figures features Christmas Town Sora, Mickey Mouse and Cloud Strife, and all of them look rather badical.

They’re available for pre-order now through Hobby Search and AmiAmi. For 3,800 Yen apiece, you could own these little sexpots when they launch in April 2010. Alternatively, you could buy them for me. Seriously, I won’t stand in your way if that’s what you need to do.

And you do need to do it.
